Synopsis

Construction projects are administered by contracts. A contract is defined as an agreement between parties, and it sets parameters. Contracts define rights and obligations of parties. Parties are at ease when an agreed contract is in place, as risks and disputes are reduced. Further, financial institutions prefer a contract when lending money as it is binding, and enforceable at law on many jurisdictions. Notwithstanding, there are verbal contracts that parties may enter, although disputes are not uncommon as the terms may not be clear.

This book equips readers with knowledge of contract practices and its application as widely used in the construction industry. It provides definitions of contract terms and explanations that are easy to comprehend. Further, the book discusses different jurisdictions to help the reader appreciate a global view of the contract practices. I wrote this book from my experiences and knowledge gathered over years, and seek to share with others the theory and practical side of contract practices in the construction industry. Happy reading!!
