This publication is an international attempt to promote Engineering as a profession and other STEM concepts in the secondary school system. There is also a lack of exposure for young people to Engineering-related careers. Most Engineering programs in the United States and Europe offer an "Introduction to Engineering Design" course to college freshman. The purpose of that course is to provide an introduction to Engineering and to spark the students' interest. This course either reinforces the student's choice or convinces them that the Engineering major is not for them. If the course reinforces the student's choice, it gives the student extra motivation to work harder in their Mathematics and Science courses as a stepping-stone to a rewarding career. This textbook was developed with this kind of student in mind. This textbook is an introduction to different Engineering majors as a profession. It also demonstrates how Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, etc. are used in the engineering design process. The textbook is also intended to promote innovativeness, creativity and teamwork.
