Synopsis

Clay soil is highly typical soil because it undergoes differential settlement, poor shearstrength and high compressibility. For this the most effective and economical method toimprove clayey soil is addition of stabilizing agents such as lime sludge or rice husk ash(RHA). It is essential to improve load bearing capacity of clayey soil, for taking more load. Inthis study, low plastic clay was stabilized by using lime sludge and rice husk ash (RHA). Thepresent investigation has been carried out with agricultural waste materials like Rice HuskAsh (RHA) and cheaply available lime sludge is mixed with clayey soil improvement ofweak sub grade in terms of compaction and strength characteristics. In this investigation, limesludge and rice husk ash (RHA) is added by weight of soil. The main objective of thisinvestigation is to access cheaply availability of lime sludge and rice husk ash for improvingengineering property of clayey soil for making capable of taking more load form structure tofoundation. In this situation, frequently we do not have some other options other thanstabilizing the soil. In modern-day technology, lots of chemical stabilizers are frequentlypracticed; however, these are often high-priced and unhygienic in terms of environmentalsustainability. The prevailing investigation has therefore been completed by using Rice HuskAsh (RHA) and Lime sludge. RHA is an agricultural waste fabric of Rice production whichcommonly increases environmental pollutants. When we combined RHA and lime sludgecollectively with virgin soil it makes some improvement on geotechnical properties of thevirgin soil. The content of silica in RHA and Calcium in lime sludge produces a pozzolanicand cementitious compound through the various sorts of chemical reactions
