Synopsis

Christmas Seafoam is an Intermediate level counted Hardanger needlework embroidery design presented within a 30-plus page booklet. The design incorporates figure-8 weaved bars within openwork areas of Hardanger kloster blocks.
Mat size worked sample for this booklet: design count is 363 by 483. Work area is approximately 16.5- by 22-inches on 22-count fabric.

This design can be increased in length and width. The last chapter of the booklet shows longer length views and a 27.5-inch square view to offer ideas of how the design would look in various length and widths.

This design booklet is written for an intermediate level embroiderer interested in working a basic Hardanger pattern with openwork.

Hardanger stitches discussed within this booklet: Hardanger satin stitches, three- and four-sided kloster blocks with open work, and Hardanger buttonhole worked edge.

As normal within a Hardanger style design, symmetry is extremely important. As such, attention must be paid to the positional spacing of each object as you stitch.
