His first collection of short stories, "Navigation in korean’s life" which he wrote for 10 years, shows traces of the author's constant anxiety and perseverance. After planning the omnibus novel at home 10 years ago, he spent more than five years collecting data. After he wrote them, he had time to rewrite for 5 years.

'Bachelor upstair Maiden downstair’ can easily be expected to be a love story, but unlike expected, it is a murder case due to noise between floors. Through noise, repetitive descriptions of everyday sounds, pornographic groans, etc., we effectively express a selfish attitude that we don't understand. Other works depict different materials in different ways. Not a single book has a light short story. But there are no short stories that are not interesting. The reason why we have some leisure time after reading those short stories may be because we have dealt with the problems of our daily lives, families, and neighbors. ‘윗집 총각 아랫집 처녀’ 라는 책 제목을 들으면 언뜻 사랑이야기 일 것이라고 예상하기 쉽지만, 예상과 달리 층간소음 문제로 인한 살인사건이 소재가 된 작품입니다. 소음, 즉 일상소리에 관한 반복적 묘사, 포르노 신음 등의 원초적 소리들을 통해, 서로 이해하지 못하는 이기적 태도를 효과적으로 표현하고 있습니다. 다른 작품들도 다양한 소재를 다양한 방법으로 묘사하고 있습니다. 단 한 작품도 가벼운 소설이 없습니다. 하지만 재미가 없는 소설도 없습니다. 이 소설을 다 읽고 난 후 여운이 남는 이유는 바로 우리 일상 주변, 가족, 이웃들의 문제를 다루었기 때문일 것입니다. 독서후 나의 아내에게, 자식에게, 부모에게, 형제에게, 이웃에게, 회사동료에게 보이는 나의 모습, 나의 행동을 되돌아 보는 시간을 갖게될 것입니다.

10년이라는 시간을 투자해 집필한 첫 소설집 '윗집 총각 아랫집 처녀'는 저자의 끊임없는 고민과 인내의 산출물이라는 흔적을 각 단편별로 곳곳에서 찾아볼 수 있습니다. 10년 전 가정에서 벌어지는 옴니버스식 소설을 기획한 후 5년여에 걸쳐서 자료수집, 현장조사, 심지어 소설속 상황의 상세묘사를 위해 인테리어와 목수일, 요리등을 학원에서 배우고 현장에서 직접 일도 해보는 경험도 마다하지 않았습니다. 또한 평범한 샐러리맨으로서 IT 분야에서 쌓은 경력은 소재로 사용된 내비게이션 해킹이나 단말기 기획과 공장 부품조립현장에 대한 생생한 묘사로 이어졌습니다. 5년여의 준비기간을 거치고, 단시간내에 초안을 집필하였습니다. 그 이후 5년여를 거쳐 일반독자 평가 후 피드백과 토론, 퇴고와 추가 재집필 등을 과정을 거쳐 2019년에 소설집으로 출간하게되었습니다. 10년 전에 소설로 계획했던 우리 가족들의 고민은 10년 후에도 변함없이 이어지고 있다는 점에서 이 소설은 행복의 개념이 바뀌지 않는다면 우리 가족구성원 간의 불편한 이야기가 앞으로도 보편적으로 계속될 것이라고 저자는 말합니다.
