Synopsis

Look for the Light on the Other Side of Darkness is an exercise in spiritual warfare. You’ll walk through 7 weeks of scripture reading, prayer, and meditations that were designed to help you face all of life’s challenges, and still come out victorious. Let’s face it, all of life comes with troubles. Job said, “Man that is born of a woman is of few days and full of trouble.” (Job 14:1) Life is set with troubles that we will have to face. Those troubles may come at an unexpected time and plays out like a movie; the scene is set, life is happening and all of a sudden boom, it happened; you’re getting a divorce. If it isn’t divorce, it is the dying of a loved one. From there the odds are really against you: you were fired from your job, you found out that you or your child or spouse had some rare form of cancer or kidney disease, and now you have to face the balance of your days dealing with it. The only problem is that this is not a movie, it’s your life. At some point the details won’t matter much, once we fall into a windstorm of trouble, it’s how to live victoriously that matters. As believers we have been called out of the darkness into the marvelous light of the gospel of Jesus Christ. In this teaching is all the help and healing we could ever need. Being a born-again believer doesn’t make you ineligible for trouble, it makes you a perfect candidate for it. Job loved God as I believe both you and I do, and scripture is clear that Job endured more in one day than most of us have to face in a lifetime. Think about it like this; in one day he went bankrupt, all of his businesses failed, all of his children were killed in a windstorm, all of the men and women that worked for him were dead, and all of his livestock were either stolen or died in the storms. To add insult to injury, shortly thereafter Job becomes deathly Ill, his wife wishes he was dead. Job remained faithful to the Lord until God decided to turn things around. He knew what place God held in his life and Job stood against a direct hit, and never cursed God. In all of us, no matter what the tragedy we face, is the capacity to live victoriously even in a Job kind of situation. Use this guide to help steer your prayer and devotional life so that while enduring your trials your time with the Lord is strengthened.
