This collection of poetry, stories, and one song was written by Elli DeLing from age 10 to age 85. Her life has been one of survival for herself and others. As a single mother of two sons, she studied and worked in the fields of curriculum development, anthropology, archaeology and historic preservation. She developed a program for migrant children and as a grandmother, received her Ed.D. from the University of Michigan. She worked for Indian tribes in the Great Lakes area for over 50 years, helping preserve their language, history and archaeological sites. This book reflects the full life of a woman growing up in the 1940s, pursuing her dreams in spite of adversity, finding someone to share the last part of her life and reaching common goals. Now a great-grandmother, writing poems and novels is a third career in a life well lived.
