This book deals with the physics of solving the Schrödinger equation for bound states. One can read many books similar to this, but here the premise and consequences are different. Our premise here is a novel mathematical correspondence between the Schrödinger equation for bound states, the Sturm-Liouville problem, and finite differences on a space of orthogonal functions that meet the boundary conditions at infinity, without being the null solution (the MVM).The consequence is to make quantum mechanics more accessible in mathematics, without an explicit connection to physics.
