This book proposes that law enforcement and other external institutions focus on supply side policing which addresses the environmental conditions that contribute to deviant behaviors rather than continuing to just focus on the flaws of the individual. Neuroscience is the study of the brain and the nervous system. Both police and citizens interact with their environment. Research studies inform us that certain environments can cause stress and lead to health issues for both police and citizens. This book draws the nexus between toxic environments, toxic experiences, toxic health, and toxic behaviors and recommends a behavioral, policies, and theoretical analysis in order to formulate both short term and long term strategies to change systemic environmental conditions.
