Synopsis

ARE YOU A SINGLE MUM WHO ISN’T IN A RELATIONSHIP AND WHOSE KIDS HAVE FLOWN THE NEST? THEN THIS 2020 DIARY THAT’S ALSO A PLANNER, WORKBOOK AND GRATITUDE JOURNAL IS FOR YOU.

The children have left home – now what?

As a single mum, when your children leave home, you’re likely to go through a wide range of emotions, and these are all the sharper when their flying the nest leaves you with an empty home because you don’t have a partner.

This diary and planner can help you think about your life going forward and how you might want that to look. A mixture of a 2020 diary, gratitude journal and workbook, it’s about trying new things – or rediscovering parts of yourself that have been covered over by motherhood. By stepping out of your comfort zone on a regular basis, you can build your confidence week by week.

The book begins with a list of things empty nesters might want to try, think about or plan for. This goes from the fairly straightforward – buying a lipstick in a bold shade you’ve been avoiding because ‘Mums don’t wear things like that’ – to major changes such as starting a business or moving house. You tick the ones that appeal to you, add a date for when you’ll take action on the item, then transfer this to the corresponding week in the diary.

Next there is a list of things you might do to care for yourself – vitally important – so you can tick the ones you fancy, set a date for when you’ll give them a go, pop that in the diary section, then decide afterwards which you’ll repeat.

In the actual 2020 diary:

• Each left-hand page is a week-to-view diary with slots to note down ‘Things to remember’ plus ‘Self-care this week’.

The right-hand page has lined sections to write about:

• Three things you’re grateful for this week, along with WHY you’re grateful.
• One or two things you’ll try this week from the list you ticked at the start of the book, and how that went.

The book:

• Is a handy 6in x 9in – perfect to carry around with you.
• Has a page for your details and emergency contacts.
• Has year-to-view calendars for 2019, 2020 and 2021.
• Has 20 lined note pages at the back.

This is also the ideal gift for the empty nest single mum in your life.

Wonderful Wellbeing Books are written by an experienced psychotherapist.
