Doors. It’s one of the most used metaphors. We have closed doors, open doors, revolving doors, slammed doors, and I am confident you could add to this list.Jesus used the imagery of a door in reference to Himself, “I Am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture” (John 10:9).If you look closely at each of the “door metaphors,” they all have a common denominator: a choice.•An “open door” means you have a choice ahead of you.•A “closed door” indicates the choice was made for you.•“Opportunity knocks on your door” and someone is offering you a choice.•You have a choice between the “narrow door” or the “wide door.”It should be no surprise that doors have been referenced throughout Scripture. As we approach these doors found in the Bible, they have the potential to help us understand the person and ministry of Jesus better. They each point us toward the Gospel. No matter what decisions you are facing, the lessons we can learn from each door mentioned in Scripture can help us make the right choice.Come on in.
