RIVER SOJOURN, the tenth book of poems by Ruth F. Guillard, is a culmination of the author’s years of living on the shores of Maine’s Damariscotta River. Many of the poems reflect an added appreciation of nature, due in part to a pending move away from the river to a “tight little town” (noted in Water Sign), and to her observations of changes in the larger world (Kilauea 2018 and Transcendence). This book also contains poignant poems about love and friendship, and a collection entitled Snow Poems, written during a series of memorable blizzards.
