Rev. Dr. L. Ronald Durham is the retired senior pastor of Greater Friendship Baptist Church in Daytona Beach, Florida. He is the past two term president of the Daytona Beach Black Clergy Alliance. Past Fifth Vice President of the Florida General Baptist Convention, and past Moderator of the North Jersey District Missionary Baptist Association. Dr. Durham has been an instructor for the National Baptist Congress of Christian Education for more than fifteen years. He is a past trustee of the Great Bethune Cookman University where he was conferred a Doctor of Divinity degree. Dr. Durham is also the author of a powerful book called The Secret Power of Prayer, now in it's second printing. He is a writer for the Sunday School Publishing Board; having written The Baptist Laymen for five years. He has also served as one of the featured writers for The Baptist Teacher. Additionally he has contributed numerous articles for The Christian Informer. Dr. Durham is the founder of BlackSermons.com, the premier online ministry for pastors around the world. Dr. Durham made history when he became the first African American in 2007 to deliver the invocation before the start of the Daytona 500 in Daytona Beach Florida, seen by millions of race fans around the world. Dr. Durham also was the coordinator on the ground of the first major rally in Sanford, Florida where some 33,000 people came out to protest the shooting and killing of Trayvon Martin by George Zimmerman.
