HERE BEFORE US: GIANTS & LITTLE PEOPLE, Volume 2, by Peter Netzel. Covered in this volume are the Giants and Little People of THE BIBLE; ANCIENT GREECE & ROME; IRELAND; ISLE OF MAN; THE MIDDLE EAST & THE MEDITERRANEAN; NORTH AMERICA; SCANDINAVIA; and SOUTH AMERICA. The evidence exists: races of tiny people and giants existed long ago. Giants and Little People are associated with stories of creation, living in harmony with nature, and morality tales. Many of these legends contain elements of truth and are often based on actual events. Thousands of newspaper reports, town and county histories, letters, photos, diaries, and scientific journals have documented the existence of ancient races of gigantic people and tiny people. Because accounts of Giants and Little People are so numerous throughout the world, it is impossible to capture all of the myths and stories in a single book. This book, Volume 2 (of 2), contains an overview and a sampling of details and stories about the Giants and Little People who were here before us in THE BIBLE; ANCIENT GREECE & ROME; IRELAND; ISLE OF MAN; THE MIDDLE EAST & THE MEDITERRANEAN; NORTH AMERICA; SCANDINAVIA; and SOUTH AMERICA. These books, HERE BEFORE US: GIANTS & LITTLE PEOPLE, bring to life times when Giants and Little People roamed the earth. Integrating science, archaeology, myth, legend, and fantasy; combined with photos and richly detailed illustrations, brings the world’s Giants and Little People to life. Ancient cultures relied on oral traditions to transfer history, information, and culture to younger generations. It is through story and song that we have knowledge of their Giants and Little People. Oral traditions of Native American tribes of the United States is one area where Giants and Little People figure prominently. To tribes like the Cherokee and the Crow, Little People were real; Giants lived alongside them. This book features testimonies of Native Americans and others who had direct contact with them, or discovered ancient caves and other dwellings, or odd sized skeletons and mummies. The hundreds of excavations of giant mummies and skeletons across the United States, corresponding directly with Native American accounts of Red-Haired Giants is explored. Reports from famed explorers like Lewis and Clark, and others, and their encounters with Giants or Little People on the North American continent are discussed. So prevalent are stories of Giants and Little People worldwide, that it is likely a person could find folk tales and myths of them almost everywhere on Earth. Extremely tall skeletons ranging from 7 feet and up to a staggering 18 feet tall have been reportedly uncovered in prehistoric mounds, burial chambers, caves, geometric earthworks, and ancient battlefields. Strange physical characteristics such as double rows of teeth, elongated skulls, and six-fingered or six-toed remains have also been reported. Skulls, skeletons, bones, and tools have been found throughout the world in hundreds of locations. These relics add more evidence to the oral traditions that tell us of unusually small or exceptionally large humans that once existed. Countless newspaper articles tell of human skeletons being found throughout the world, the tallest being 36 feet. The smallest was less than 3 feet tall. The internet is filled with an endless string of accounts and photos of Giants and Little People. This book captures some of the major ones. Though there is much debate about whether Giants and Little People were real or imagined; or whether such humanoids were gods or aliens from another world; or whether Giants and Little People were the product of genetics and evolution, no matter the origin, myths and folk tales centered around Giants and Little People are entertaining reading; while at the same time, giving us a window into the culture of the people and history of the region from where they originate.
