The Lohar’s, an occupational community of Jammu and Kashmir, India manufacture iron implements used in agricultural activities and also other iron works. The Lohar or Luhar are an occupational caste of traditional travelling Blacksmiths. This book outlines a study conducted in which status of Education and Employment in Lohar Community was analyzed and described. This book looks upon the prospect of the social exclusion of Lohar through the prospective of their traditional occupation and how it can contribute to their inclusion as well. It looks towards the relationship between Education and Employment. The book, being of an exploratory and interpretive nature, raises a number of opportunities for future research, both in terms of theory development and concept validation.
