Valerie Laura Marshall is a life-long writer who has used her writing more as a therapeutic tool than anything else, although academic essays and articles, as well as reflections/sermons, are also part of her output. These poems, along with the contents of her journal, have developed out of the working through of some life event, especially those verse relating to life and love - although the antics of That Cat have also provided much food for thought as well as delight and amusement. She was born in Christchurch, New Zealand, in 1948, and still lives there, having “come home” in 1986 after eighteen years away, living in both New Zealand and Australia. She has worked as a Registered Nursing Aid and as a Librarian.
