An early morning dog walker finds a body on a secluded beach in Rarotonga and Jack Kincaid is assigned to find the killer.Jack travels to this exotic Pacific island and discovers that the deceased was one of a party of guests attending a wedding. The detective realises he has a problem as every guest appears to be a suspect.After interviewing all the guests he returns to the UK where he his attacked by a major suspect, almost costing him his life. Further investigations finally lead him to a surprising conclusion. It presents the detective with an unprecedented moral dilemma. David was born in 1936. His father was killed in France in 1940, during the early stages of the war. David was evacuated at the age of four, returning home almost six years later. He joined the Merchant Navy at sixteen, emigrated from England to New Zealand at seventeen and was recruited into the NZ Army at eighteen. He married at twenty one and helped raise three children. He arrived back in the UK in 1994. Two years later, at the age of sixty, he started a Tour Boat business on the Brighton Marina. Ten years later he was diagnosed with prostate cancer, sold his business and retired the following year. In 2009, at the age of 73 he walked around England for Cancer Research UK and the ACRF (Australian Cancer Research Federation). His first book The Big Walk, was a day-to-day account of the above walk and was published in 2012. In 2014 he wrote The Mud Pack, his first fiction novel, (only on Kindle) A year later he completed his third book, If Only...! a compelling romantic work. The Rise of Merlin was the author’s first venture into the fantasy genre....And then came – A Case of Retribution, an intriguing murder mystery.
