Synopsis

A cheating ex is bad. A dead one haunting your new home? The worst.

Carly Taylor has never considered herself particularly lucky, probably because she’s divorced, broke, and stuck living in her mother’s basement. So when her cheating ex unexpectedly dies and leaves her his sprawling Victorian mansion in the charming town of Landover, it feels like maybe her luck is finally changing.

That is, until she moves in and finds her ex’s ghost hovering in the living room... with one final request: solve his murder. Carly isn’t exactly eager to play detective for the man who wrecked her life, especially since she can think of plenty of people — including herself — who had good reason to want the man dead.

But the deeper she digs, the clearer it becomes that his murder wasn’t just a crime of passion or a deal gone wrong. There’s a killer lurking in Landover, and if Carly doesn’t uncover the truth soon, the next victim might be a little too close to home.

À propos de l'auteur

Etta Faire is the author of the Ghosts of Landover Mysteries, a paranormal mystery series featuring a writer named Carly who discovers she has strong mediumship powers after inheriting a Victorian house from her arrogant, rich ex-husband after he passes. Of course, he’s haunting the place, and they become a team of unusual sleuths, solving cold cases by channeling with ghosts to relive the memories of their deaths, gather clues, and figure things out. Etta is also the author of the Sketchy Matchmaker Series, another whimsical cozy mystery series about a frazzled single mother of three girls who struggles to find herself while solving murders along the way. Etta grew up in Northern Virginia where she watched a lot of scary movies and imagined all sorts of crazy things in the woods, graveyards, and old deserted houses around her neighborhood. She still enjoys imagining those things, but now she writes them all down from her home in Southern California where she lives with her husband, three kids, and two cats.
