Synopsis

Shackles on the Ladder of Light is a narrative poetry collection drawing the step-ahead journey of the narrator from an ordinary person with no hope or aim in life to a Professor and Head of English Department. The book sheds the whole light on the discouraging attitudes of the people in the surrounding environment and the self resistance of the professor even with the self. The poet selects certain real events and philosophically proving the visions of the antagonists incarnated with watertight explanation.The book conveys various messages in accordance with bitter realities of the social and psychological awareness on the one hand, and with the pride and professional jealousy on the other. It aims at the encouragement and the enlightenment of the future generation to transcend and override whatsoever impediments and negativities they may face on the Ladder of Light.

Mubarak Ali Ahmed Al-Hammadi, Al-Yadoumi (08 July 1986) was born in Daf village, Maber city, Thamar governorate, the Republic of Yemen. He is originally from De Yadoum village, Khulan province, Sana’s_ the Capital of Yemen. He is a poet, writer, social activist and a college teacher of English literature. The poet did his M. A. in English at S.R.T.M. University, India and his research study in this program was in poetry entitled A Comparative Study of the Select Poems of T. S. Eliot and A. W. Albayati as Modernist Poets. Currently, he is a Ph. D. research scholar in Comparative Literature (Between an American Nobel Laureate Novelist and an Arabic Nobel Laureate Novelists) at BAMU, India. He has also published 10 research papers in Literature. This book titled Shackles on the Ladder of Light is the second poetry collection in English and having one more unpublished collection in Arabic. His first poetry collection in English is Hell of Shebaland (6 June 2018) in which the poet pictures the hard circumstances in Yemen in the second decade of the twentieth century.
