Combined, the authors have over 70 years of teaching experience, and over 30 years of teaching AP World History. They have also amassed over 20 years of invaluable participation as readers and leaders of the AP World History exam. Working together at a socially, culturally, and economically diverse 6A Title I school in the Greater Houston area, they built a program which has seen a consistently high level of success. Chris Peek has been involved with AP World History since its inception. Along with being a full time social studies teacher he was also a curriculum writer for the Houston Independent School District and a consultant with the College Board. Chris has written exams for major publishing houses as well as questions for the TExES exam for teacher certification. Chris attempts to keep Kate on a steady course as she sometimes veers in tangential directions. Kate Nocca, born in England, has a long history of international education, eventually finding her way to Houston, Texas, where she has worked for many years. Kate has been instrumental in the development of the AP World History curriculum for Houston ISD. She has written exam questions for a major publishing house and has participated in question writing for an on-line review. Kate is never satisfied and often edits her own edits. Lauren Ortega, although fairly new to the team, has proven invaluable with her grasp of history, technical expertise, and editing abilities. Without her help, you would not understand a word written in this skills guide.
