The M.A.P.'s Journal (as described in Next Generation Ministry and Discipleship) is designed for use in student Discipleship groups (D-groups). The journal is 52 weeks in length thus allowing a D-group to meet and use the journal for 1 year. M.A.P. stands for Meaning, Application, Prayer. M.A.P. is a simple way for a student to take a memory verse and allow it to become a part of who they are. Maps get a person from where they are to where they want to be. M.A.P.'s does the same thing but in a spiritual sense. The goal in the journey is Christ-likeness and the M.A.P. helps a student get to the destination! The M.A.P.'s Journal is designed to be used year after year because students in the Discipleship group can replicate new D-groups and serve as new leaders. Having become familiar with The M.A.P.'s Journal as a student allows the new leader to lead their own D-group easily. However, the new D-group leader will now have to familiarize him or herself with the Scripture passage that each weekly memory verse is found in. These Scripture passages are on the systematic M.A.P. found in the booklet Next Generation Ministry and Discipleship.
