Inspiration Behind the Book: The back story behind "A Colorful Balloon Ride" was when I learned colors in my kindergarten art class and I got to learn how to draw shapes, landscapes, people, and animals by using the primary colors. My best friend Emily was in the same class, and I used her to name Mary's best friend, Emily. Emily and I loved seeing how colors painted a scene and brought people, places, and things to life.

Allistar Banks was born and raised in McCormick, SC. Ms. Banks is a graduate of Lander University with a Bachelor of Science in Mass Communications. As an undergrad student, she discovered her passion for writing children and adult’s literature.
