David Lyle Jeffrey is a grandfather, storyteller, and scholar who still occasionally commits random acts of poetry. Though officially retired from a lifetime of university teaching (UK, Canada, China, and the USA), he remains involved in Baylor University's Institute for Studies in Religion, but now devotes more time to non-academic writing. In addition to A Testament of Witnesses, his 25th book, hi memoir, We Were a Peculiar People--Once is due out in the Spring from Baylor University Press.
