Synopsis

I have been very blessed in my life, and in my family, and it has been my life’s work to help others to feel that way too. In April 2014 I decided to reach out to a wider community, by writing an internet blog so that I could share my thoughts and feelings about life, love and my faith, in the hope that it would offer some small amount of comfort and encouragement to others going through life’s process. My blog has gone from strength to strength and I have received many messages and kind words about how my website has helped both men and women, old and young, on their journey through life. My first book, “When you walk through a Storm”, written in 2015, grew from that idea. People were very kind in their response to that, and have told me how much it helped them to focus on their faith during difficult times. My second book “The Power of Prayer”, written a year later, focused on strengthening faith through prayer, to bring us closer to God. Now I feel the time is right to follow on with this third book in the series, this time focusing on the Power of Words. The words that we say to ourselves and to others, the words that people say to us and most especially the words that we say to God and that He says to us – they all have such a powerful effect on how we feel and on every aspect of our lives.

Pastor Maria Reems is a wife, mother of three daughters and co-pastor of the Center of Hope Community Church in Oakland California and serves alongside her husband, Pastor Brondon Reems. She is an anointed dynamic speaker, preacher and teacher. In addition she is a professional consultant and has the added responsibility of providing services including community relations training to non-profit and for-profit organizations. Pastor Maria is a strong advocate for women while promoting and utilizing spiritual healing as an empowerment tool, following in the footsteps of her mother, Bishop Ernestine Reems. She has founded and facilitates 'Women on the Move', a professional organization for women seeking to be empowered and transformed through life's journey. Since the year 2009, the organization has sponsored a free annual health and career faire for the entire City of Oakland. Special guests include, Cheryl Lee Ralph, KRON 4 news anchor, Pam Moore and Mayor Jean Quan. As a former corporate executive and school teacher, she integrates her professional background and corporate experience to empower others to maximize their talents and abilities. She is an advocate for women, their healing and empowerment. Pastor Maria graduated from San Francisco State University with a B.A. in Business Marketing and John F. Kennedy University holding a M.B.A. in Business Management.
