Synopsis

This amusing - and very sad - tale records the life of Zachariah Sprock - who is unable to speak until the age of 9. An extremely clumsy uncle visiting the family manages to dislodge a dictionary which hits poor Zak on the head - and he can speak! But now he knows the complete dictionary - which alarms everyone. With brilliant illustrations by Mike Tingle, Chris Reeve has created a humorous, witty and ultimately sad poetic tale that will delight children - and their parents. The collaboration between Chris and Mike has created a charming and poignant story out of the most unusual circumstances with the pictures bringing to life the intoxicating verse - and provoking many a wry smile. at the same time providing a serendipitous adventure in rarely seen - and certainly even more rarely heard - words.
