Mellie Test (that’s me!) lives with her incredibly AWESOME 9yo son Auryn and their rescue dogs in the mountains of Western Colorado. She fled the Washington, DC area years ago when it all got too serious and stale. She needed nature. She needed space. And even though it was super scary to pack her son and dogs in the car and drive West to a place she’d never been, it was the best decision she’s ever made. Mellie’s been creative and intuitive her entire life. But as a young girl, the big bad serious adults told her she wasn’t. They told her to remember that she wasn’t AT ALL SPECIAL, and it took until she was an adult herself to finally realize that THEY WERE WRONG. Mellie wants to make sure YOU know that YOU are creative and magical, too. And ESPECIALLY if you’re a kid - don’t EVER let ANYONE tell you what your limits are. She continues a professional career as a project manager, copywriter, graphic and web designer, marketer, and more, while fitting in as much artwork as she can. Mellie also loves being outside in nature. Hiking, skiing, rock climbing, paddling... she thinks it’s the absolute BEST. Having recently moved further southwest to the tiny town of Redstone, Colorado, she’s able to wade the river and hike the hills ­— right outside her door.
