Synopsis

I’ve often been told I should write up my life events after people learn some of what I’ve been through. "You Are Here" is a sort of autobiographical journey—some parts funny, some parts not-so-funny…some parts whimsical, some exploratory. The following pieces, written at different times in my life become the bits and pieces of my journey to “here”, a place I appreciate more and more. I purposely did not make this a “play-by-play” autobiography, but rather a patchwork quilt of events that pieces itself together as life goes on. If something instructs or enlightens, it’s purely accidental. I mainly wanted a way to put the pieces together and share some of the more interesting, funny and amusing things I’ve done later in life, and closer to the “here”. Unavoidably, there are the hard times too which are important to tell—without all the ugly details—only making the joyful times that much sweeter. And that’s the other thing I would love to be able to share: the freedom and joy that can result later after we’ve learned from our pain.I hope at least some of these pieces will entertain and connect with those who read them. But mostly, I hope everyone gets to that place where that private hell is no more, and “here” is a beautiful place full of adventure, peace, laughter, and love.
