Keyboard Worship Book 2 is an “intermediate to moderately advanced” piano book. It’s intended for all adults, college students, and teenagers looking for practical help playing the piano or a synth in a Christian worship setting with a band, any ensemble, or alone. It should be ideal for those with smaller hands, for I too have a relatively small hand.

Book 2 deals with contemporary harmony. It is an in-depth exploration of new chord colors such as various drones, added second chords, sus chords, quartal chords, "four over five" chords, even rootless chords. Learn effective ways to “voice” them so they sound really good and resonate. Develop your own contemporary keyboard language, begin to “think in music,” improvise, and be more creative.

Get the unique sound shapes into your fingers! I’ll be your coach. If you have a teacher, that’s even better, but if you don’t the book is designed to be self-explanatory. Learn how these new sounds function. Understand music theory. A friendly, running commentary communicates what is going on musically, breaking down concepts into small, achievable chunks. Book 2 has 224 pages and over 300 music examples. Included are 5 arrangements with piano parts for playing along with a professional band and singer. The piano parts feature a moderately paced gospel shuffle, fast upbeat gospel, country stylings, and a classical piece. Also, basic charts are provided so you can be creative and improvise freely with the band.

Book 2 is an earnest, whole-hearted effort intentionally priced cheaply (for a book of this size and depth) to bless all thirsty keyboardists.
