The poems in "Unbind(ing)" are about how I found a way through. It is about the risk of radical self-love and radical hope for a re-imagining of the relationship between Catholicism and queerness. This book came to life from the umbilicus-deep knowledge that I am altogether beautiful, that God finds no flaw in me, that nothing separates me from being fully human and fully divine. I wrote this for you. I wrote it so you won’t feel alone. I wrote it so you won’t fear being both/and. You are marvelous. Truly. God beholds you and smiles. You, dear one, are beloved. This book is my offering of restlessness, liberation, and love as queer as a $3 bill.

À propos de l'auteur

Asher Marron is an Oakland poet and educator. She holds a Master of Theology from the Franciscan School of Theology and a Bachelor of Arts in history from Mills College. She is currently an MFA student at San Francisco State University. Asher’s poetry aims to beatify queer bodies by expressing the complexity of queer identity through spiritual aesthetics.
