Joey Acker is the illustrator and co-author of My P.E. Teacher is a Ninja, My Teacher is an Elf, and My Counselor is a Princess. With aspirations of becoming an animator as a child, Joey later discovered his love of teaching children through martial arts. He holds a B.S. in Kinesiology and M.Ed in Educational Administration, but finds his enjoyment and purpose in teaching Health and Physical Education to his wonderful students of 11 years. Melanie Acker is the co-author of My Teacher is an Elf, My P.E. Teacher is a Ninja, and My Counselor is a Princess. Melanie has always found great joy in working with children. She is a former elementary teacher, elementary and secondary administrator, and counselor. Melanie holds a B.S. in Elementary Education and a M.S. in Counseling. She has a love for building relationships, connecting with others, and is currently working towards becoming a Licensed Professional Counselor. Melanie writes stories with her wonderful husband, Joey, who also illustrates their books. They both reside in Texas with their two amazing children.
