Synopsis

Our world could have been entirely different if minor events played out differently in the past. Likewise, the future of our species, and life in general, could branch out separately into many other worlds based on what we decide to do today.
Carrying the burden of being the only deciding species on our planet should give us a sense of responsibility and urgency of making sure our decisions are in line with the interests of life as a whole and not only of ours.
Enclosed in this book are nine short stories, mostly science fiction, imagining different evolutionary pathways and envisioning possible future worlds that could evolve based on the available, current day science and technology. What kind of world would have evolved if mice, not humans, were the dominant species on Earth? Or another world where all adult humans go extinct and leave behind their children, who have the power to shape their new world.
What would the world have looked like if equally intelligent species existed alongside humans? A game world where Super Mario discovers his true digital nature and takes it upon himself to reprogram his universe and his people before a system shutdown. Finally, the discovery of nano aliens in snow globes alongside an ocean trench revises ideas on the origin of life.
