Synopsis

There is so much “noise” all around us. Loud voices are telling us what to think, who to believe, and how to feel. In recent years we’ve seen how the media attempts to control the narrative and suppress the facts. CEOs of the most prominent social media platforms confess to manipulating truth in order to control the thoughts and behaviors of their followers.

Our current situation reminds me of the climactic scene in the Wizard of Oz when Dorothy and her cohorts arrive at the Emerald City. The Great Wizard promised to grant their wishes if they could defeat the wicked witch. As they stand before the “Great and Powerful Oz” lights flash, fire explodes, and his voice booms. The anticipation builds as they know all of their hopes will finally be realized.

And then it happens. Dorothy’s Yorkshire Terrier, Toto, wonders away and pulls back the curtain to reveal the shenanigans. There is no great and powerful Oz, just a man pushing buttons and flipping switches. They recognize in that moment that they’ve been duped.

And so have we. We’ve been duped by Hollywood, social media, and corporate America who tell us that money and power should be our gods, gender is fluid, America is racist, and capitalism is evil. Basically, facts do not matter and truth no longer exists.

Right now, our nation is in crisis. America was built on the concept of personal freedom—the right to own property, peacefully assemble, worship God, build wealth, protect your family, and pursue happiness. But the very foundation of our society is eroding beneath our feet. Individuals who hate America are trying to suppress our freedoms, destroy our economy, and “fundamentally change” our nation to look more like Cuba or Venezuela—the very countries from which many citizens fled to come to America. If our Democracy falls, there will be nowhere left to go.
