In "More Than Enough", Don Forrester weaves together a lifetime of memories and lessons learned. He says, "I want a sense of adventure in every facet of life. I don’t want to just get by and settle for business as usual. I want to soak it up and squeeze every ounce of joy that can be absorbed. I want to live life in relationship with others and with God in such a way that nothing is left that can be gained. I want it all. I want to live life passionately and with a sense of excitement that I’m asking none of it.When life is grasped and valued for the experience, the associated memories highlight lessons learned and the joys associated with taking none of it for granted". Don Forrester’s story, written in parable-like fashion, will be a catalyst for others to relate to and to remember their own similar experiences. The renewed memory becomes the basis for discovering adventure in the midst of commonplace.Don Forrester is a retiree with 47 years of full time employment serving children and families from hard places. Don says of himself: When it comes to life, I want it all. I want to squeeze every last ounce out of the adventure and waste none of it.In the process, he is a busy man. For the past five and a half years, he has written a daily blog to reflect on life, chronicle a memory or an adventure and has discovered a lot of laughter and joy in the process. He considers nonsense his spiritual gift and humor comes easily for him. The more complicated stuff is as he describes it is “another matter.”The passion of his life has been meeting others at the point of need and breaking the generational cycle of abuse and neglect. He and his wife, Treva, live in Dripping Springs, Texas, where he has also served as bi-vocational pastor of Henly Baptist Church for more than three decades.
