Mark Cooper has had enough of the constant turmoil in his home due to the tumultuous relationship with his father, Gorman Cooper, who suffers from PTSD. Gorman's attempt to self medicate has turned into alcoholism. In an attempt to escape his father, Mark finds himself traveling down the same road of addiction. However, his life is changed when his younger brother suffers a life-threatening injury. Faced with the possible loss of his sibling he is forced to deal with his own struggles, which helps him to better understand his father's pain. Through his Christian walk, Mark learns the hard lesson of love and forgiveness.
