Synopsis
Criminal investigator Larry Macklin is still in the doghouse with his father, the sheriff, after his impulsive and dangerous mission to rescue a colleague’s kidnapped wife. His promotion to sergeant is in doubt and he’s afraid he’ll be on Mauser-sitting duties for the rest of his life.
But he soon has bigger problems when a childhood friend is found passed out near the dead body of a retired sheriff’s deputy. All evidence points to the man’s guilt, but Larry is convinced he’s innocent of the murder. That is, until another body shows up. Larry’s quest to clear the man’s name will lead him into the darkest corners of Adams County’s drug culture… and may end the career of one of his closest friends.
