Journeys to Joy follows the first 2 1/2 years of 16, of a journey to find and know the truth about God's love directly from God Himself. Learn how these people break free of the abusive control maintained over their lives and memories by people and priests who came in the name of God and claim to be acting under His authority. These remarkable true stories follow an individual with Multiple Personality Disorder, a survival mechanism initiated by a lifetime of abuse, struggling to find spiritual healing and 'wholeness' through the unconditional love of Jesus.

Recorded in the words of the people experiencing them, some of life's hardest issues are investigated, illustrated and documented in these books; spiritual warfare, clergy abuse, Satanic Ritual Abuse, evil in everyday life, spiritual healing and the reality of the power of the Kingdom of God at work in and around us. As the author of the SHATTERED PEOPLE SERIES and a pastor & counselor specializing in spiritual issues, I include a running commentary on their journey as a clinical study of their journey with their first counselor and later with me. I include definitions of terms used for understanding the care given them and what we learned together about God's love, healing, plans and will for all of His children. How God chooses to reveal His love and power, while confronting evil in the midst of their pain and suffering, through forgiveness, mercy and truth will challenge your concepts of Him and His love.

Our purpose together in these books is not to focus on understanding their experiences, or my understanding of them or their "disorders", but to help all those going through similar struggles in search of hope and healing, to learn how Jesus responds to their needs and why... knowing that God in Jesus Christ is trustworthy and present in life. While this book covers 2 1/2 years, the second book Journeys to Love covers the next 4 years. I am updating the information shared in the prefaces and prologues of both books to include new understanding of the issues in this series Shattered People learned over the next 20 years of relationships with hundreds of clients/ friends on their journeys to understand who God is and why He loves them + why they can trust our Heavenly Father's ongoing and unconditional love for them.

Michael E. Chalberg is pastor and cofounder of Shepherd's Care Ministries in Gilbert, Arizona. He offers 3 primary areas of ministry; Pastoral Counseling & Publishing; Mentoring over the Internet and privately; and Christian Renewal as an Intentional-Interim Pastor & Consultant. He has been in ministry 49 years, working as an interim minister for 23 years offering renewal and healing to troubled communities of faith, using conflict resolution, leadership training, restoration of Biblical Disciplines, instruction in spiritual warfare; deliverance ministry and establishing prayer teams to support a laity-empowered church. The past 31 years he has specialized in pastoral counseling to survivors of ritual abuses; Clergy Abuse; sexual abuse; Incest; Satanic Ritual Abuse; Human Trafficking of Minors; Pornography; Domestic Violence; Post Traumatic Stress Disorder; Dissociative Identity Disorder (MPD); and other trauma induced issues in adults and children. Many counseling clients gave permission to publish their spiritual journeys of healing with him in our first series - "Shattered People Series: Journeys to Joy (2003); Journeys to Love (2005)" both revised and updated released in December 2020. Their stories include my commentary as counselor, pastor, friend and fellow traveler.
