Synopsis

This beautiful children's picture book is the story about a young wind, named Loving Wind, who sings a song of love as she blows across the land making friends with everything in nature. As Loving Wind grows older throughout the story, she wonders, “What is beyond the sky?” She asks her friends but none of them know, and she decides she must learn for herself.

She gathers all of her strength and shoots skyward so fast that no one sees her leaving. Her friends awake the next day to the knowledge that their friend is gone. They become quiet and, in the silence, they begin to hear the same song Loving Wind used to sing. They know the song is not coming from their friend for she is gone. Then, they realize the song is coming from everything around them – and from within them.
