This book highlights over 30 accomplished, inspirational, and influential women from companies such as Google, AT&T, Nissan, IBM, Toshiba, Epsilon, AECOM, General Motors, and more breaking glass ceilings in STEM fields.
From tech wizards, to business leaders, to engineers, to education leaders, the women in this book are shining examples of what we can become if we follow our passion, work hard, and support one another!
There is no evidence that girls and women are not interested in STEM fields. However, research does suggest that cultural attitudes, including implicit and explicit biases, discourage women from entering computer science, engineering, mathematics, and physics in particular.
One of the ways to increase that participation is to have role models who will inspire young women to consider STEM careers.
While each story is unique, their messages are universal. They've overcome adversity, working toward inclusiveness, and learned the power of the greater good to acheive their goals. In all cases, they are role models for the generation of women STEM leaders to come. Any of these women would inspire someone to pursue their passion and operate with a higher purpose, but together, they are an unstoppable force!
Includes interviews by the following STEM leaders:
