Not everyone gets a happily ever after.
Elaine's mother taught her that a woman's worth could only be determined by two things: her beauty and her husband's bank account.
But Elaine wanted love, and she got it with her husband and their two daughters—until her life is turned upside down by tragedy she couldn't have foreseen.
Months later, Elaine thinks she's found a chance at happiness again when she marries a charming widower. But the rosy memory of his late wife and his devotion to his daughter may convince Elaine that her mother was right all along.

Breaking Mrs. Thomas is a single POV novel with a not so happily ever after. This story is the prequel to the Curvy Ever After series with fairy tale characters reimagined. Elaine eventually must play the role of the evil stepmother in Book one, Fake Dating Mr. Prince. Think of Breaking Mrs. Thomas as a beautifully crafted origin story for a villain. You want to hate her, but knowing how her life began and how hate filled her soul you walk away realizing that all is not what it is seems and she never started out as evil as she ended up.

Author Notes:
This book is about a widowed single mother and a widowed single father coming together in a opposites attract romance that's doomed from the start. This one will tug at your heart strings and never let you go.
The books in the Curvy Ever After series are all standalone novels and can be read in any order. But if you love family drama and the subtle build of future romances, I suggest you read them in order, starting with the prequel, Breaking Mrs. Thomas and then moving on to the first book, Fake Dating Mr. Prince.
