John Yeager's presentations and training programs have inspired audiences around the United States because they draw on his broad experience as illustrious athlete, experienced coach, and organizational behavior consultant. As a former elite lacrosse goaltender at the high school, college, and professional levels, John is a member of the Lacrosse Halls of Fame of New England, Eastern Massachusetts, and UMASS Boston/Boston State. He was named one of the top 20 New England lacrosse players of all time by the New England Lacrosse Journal. He translated what he learned as an athlete into effective high school and college coaching in Massachusetts and Indiana. John is himself a life-long learner. Extending his interests beyond the playing field, he earned his doctorate in education at Boston University. Later he graduated from the country's first graduate-level program in applied positive psychology at the University of Pennsylvania. More recently, he became a certified Polarity Thinking(TM) consultant. Combining study with direct experience gives John a unique understanding of the needs of coaches for continuous learning. He is the Chief Education Officer at Yeager Leadership, a consulting firm that works with corporate and sports organizations. John has written for Sports Illustrated.com and been quoted in Sports Illustrated and The New York Times Magazine. John continues to work actively with coaches and teams to meet the ever-changing challenges in the world of sports.
Jon Cunha is a licensed mental health counselor (LMHC). He earned his master's degree from Lesley University in clinical mental health counseling. Jon is a co-owner of Riser and Tread, a company dedicated to helping young people ages 8-25 Step Up + Move Forward. Jon specializes in working with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder(ADHD), anxiety, depression, and mental performance. He also has a passion for sports. Jon was a three-time All-American in track and field at Wheaton College (MA) until injury ended his aspirations of reaching the Olympics. That experience motivated him to support others going through similar disappointments. He has developed a training program for athletes, coaches, and organizations to strengthen mental fitness and performance. Along with his clinical license, Jon also coached track and field for almost a decade. He now combines the benefits of therapeutic interventions, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), with athletic coaching principles, such as goal setting, facing fear, purpose development, and mindfulness.
