Synopsis

Have you ever had one of those days when the MOON just happens to roll into your ROOM? ... I remember it well. I will never forget. So much happened before the sun set.

When the Moon Came to My Room tells of one young girl's experience alone in her room on a sunny afternoon. Well, that is, if you don't count her cute, curious cat and the massive, magical moon.

Small room ... BIG MOON...thoughtful questions...valuable life lessons.

This is a story to be read day or night. It's a tale for the young and the not-so-young, for the imaginative daydreamers and their devoted caretakers. And, at the end of this book, a special moon journal, for the wordsmiths and crayon scribblers in all of us...Draw or write in the moon's bright light.

A propos du livre

À propos des auteurs

The youngest of 5 girls in an Irish-Italian Midwestern family, Nancy Giangrasse often felt like a fly on the wall that would sometimes move off the wall to buzz in a family member's ear. She grew up just outside Chicago and attended college in Minnesota. After graduating from college, she moved to New York City to work, write and perform. Nancy currently lives in the Chicago area with her husband, daughter, son and two rescue dogs. During her childhood she spent her time alternating between participating and observing in the daily family "dance". A word, an exchange of looks, a laugh, a cry, even a repetitive chore - all part of this intricate and ever-evolving dance. Nancy learned early on that sometimes we have partners, sometimes we are solo, sometimes we don't appear to be moving at all, but we are always dancing.

Ira Baykovska's career began with the doodles in her mom's recipe books, when she was three-years-old. From there she moved to drawing on the walls in her bedroom and then to the many notepads that she made into her own books. Now in her twenties, Ira has discovered what she really wants to do with her life. She loves to illustrate books for children and has created fifteen children's books. It always amazes her how words on paper become real in colors and lines. Ira has a degree in Graphic Design from Ukrainian academy of Printing. She is based in Lviv Ukraine.
