Synopsis

Some cases never close. Some debts never die.

When his former homicide partner reaches out, blind PI Steve Smiley knows it's bad. Leo's been handed an eighty-year-old murder—no living witnesses, no fresh evidence, no leads—solve it or face forced retirement. For a cop who's given everything to the job, it's a death sentence.

Smiley builds the case the only way he knows how: working sources, cross-checking old testimony, and trusting instincts sharpened on Houston's homicide floor. At his side, partner Heather McBlythe reads the room he can't see and chases leads he can't run down alone. What they uncover is a generations-long blood feud between three families. Old grudges. Buried secrets. And a list of suspects who all had reason to want the victim dead.

Then history repeats itself. Another body. Another murder that mirrors the original killing.

Now Smiley's racing against time to connect two cases separated by decades. If he fails, Leo loses everything—and a killer walks free. Again.

Pick up Murder Down The Line today and follow blind PI Steve Smiley as he works an eighty-year-old cold case and a feud with roots four generations deep—before history claims another victim. A clean, traditional whodunit for fans of classic detective mysteries.
