Joan Maloof, Ph.D., works to educate about, and encourage, forest preservation. She founded the Old-Growth Forest Network with the goal of creating a network of protected forests across the US. It now has thousands of supporters and over 160 forests in 28 states. Maloof is a professor emeritus at Salisbury University where she taught Biological Sciences and Environmental Studies.
