Growing up in the city of Nashville, where life was extremely plentiful for some, and completely difficult for others, the Clifton’s managed to hold it all together by manifesting amongst themselves. The family embraced one of the most powerful emotions of them all… Love.
But everyone involved with the family didn’t seem to share the same sentiments. As betrayal, deception, lies, envy, and an insurmountable amount of jealousy of certain members and friends strategically comes into play, in hopes of truly sabotaging and destroying certain individuals of the Clifton clan, along with those that are closely attached.
Set in the mid 70’s to late 80’s, this intense novel is an unsparing reflection of the poverty, bigotry, racial separatism, and the feelings of determination experienced by a family of people, who, from the very beginning, refused to accept anything other than their equal opportunities by pulling themselves from the lowest levels of inner city living until finally reaching the top… or at least a place of comfort for them all.
