Synopsis

In the first story two little pigs, like Hansel and Gretel, are running home as fast as they can because the big bad butcher is chasing them. Problem is, they don't know which way to go so they have to keep stopping to ask directions from the different animals they pass along the way. The Two Little Pigs is a bright, fast-paced, vegan rhyming story, perfect for reading to little ones at bedtime. Colourfully illustrated with crayons by Miranda Lemon, the story ends happily. The second story in this book is the wonderful tale of Deidra - a dairy cow who keeps wandering off. Every day Deidra disappears without telling anyone where she's going. She's always back by milking time but no one has any idea where she's been. Every day is the same, until finally the farmer follows her. Complete with watercolour paintings by Violet Plum, Where are you going Deidra? is the second colourful rhyming story with a happy ending in this beautiful hardback gift edition.

À propos de l'auteur

Violet Plum, who studied Law, English Literature and Creative Writing with The Open University, is a hill hiking, Scrabble playing, chocolate scoffing story lover who is best known for writing and illustrating vegan-friendly comics and picture books in which the heroes don't eat meat, drink milk, go fishing or wear leather jackets; Miranda Lemon is a cat-knitter, cow-painter and rag-mouse maker who dropped out of art college when she was nineteen years old. One of her knitted cats - not always the same one - accompanies her wherever she goes, fulfilling a childhood wish to always bring at least one toy with her. Her love of reading, tireless creativity and child-like imagination inevitably led her to invent stories which delight other children.
