Synopsis

The book is a memoir of one man’s decades of experiences with running and semi-competitive racing. It describes how and why he began running, the multiple things that have kept him doing so for more than 35 years, and personal stories he’s accumulated along the road. It’s held together by accounts of the many races he competed in during the year 2024 but diverges into several philosophical writings about life and modern sports science, the history of the sport, and the races which held the most personal significance for him. During this journey, he traveled to several locations (California, Japan, Washington State, etc.) as well as his home base in Canada to run, making the book sometimes also something of a travelogue. This all merges together to form the personal story of the many friends made (and in some cases, lost) during a life of running. C
