The Girl in the Dickie Bow is an illustrated poem about a young girl who struggles with her mum’s wish for her to be dressed in a DRESS for her auntie and uncle’s wedding. As the day approaches, she knows only too well how she’d like to be dressed! The question is… will her dream come true? Illustrated by Sarah Leigh-Wills, The Girl in the Dickie Bow is the debut picture book by Lisa Satchell-Foley.

It hasn’t always been books and rhymes. In fact, I used to be a little scared of words and books until it became clear I was dyslexic at the age of 10; it was at this time that things began to change. Two passions emerged, all things sporty and my love of words, blending together in rhythm. Little did I realise how these two passions would shape my world, but here I am typing this as a published children’s author and a yoga teacher… A little bit of luck and buckets of hard work can take you to unexpected places it seems, but I couldn’t be happier! I live on the Wirral, which is in the North-West of England. It’s where Daniel Craig grew up; you can look it up if you like. I live here with my wife Jude, two son’s and our very lovely cat called Lily. We love it here. It’s a peninsula so we are surrounded by beaches, lovely views and wonderful outdoor spaces. It’s the perfect place to write, so that’s exactly what I do. In between teaching yoga classes, that is. Anyway, if you have found your way here then you must have come across The Girl in the Dickie Bow – my debut children’s picture book from the ‘It rocks to be you’ collection. It’s been quite a journey getting to this point! I do hope you find a quiet moment to become acquainted with The Girl in the Dickie Bow, she is sure to leave you feeling a little lighter with a big bright smile on your face. Go on … she’s waiting!

paperback. Etat : Good. Sarah Leigh-Wills (illustrateur). Our good condition books are generally good for reading but not for gifting or collecting. They could have imperfections such as creasing, fanning, inscriptions, margin notes, yellowing, staining on edge or cover or pages, bumps, scuffs, etc etc (sometimes multiple of these). It's a wide category that encompasses anything that isn't almost-new down to anything that is slightly better than poor. We would NOT recommend gifting Good books - these should be considered reading copies. Our books are dispatched from a Yorkshire former cotton mill. We list via barcode/ISBN so please note that the images are stock images and may not be the exact copy you receive, furthermore the details about edition and year might not be accurate as many publishers reuse the same ISBN for multiple editions and as we simply scan a barcode or enter an ISBN we do not check the validity of the edition data when listing. If you're looking for an exact edition please don't order (at least not without checking with us first, although we don't always have time to check). We aim to dispatch prompty, the service used will depend on order value and book size. We can ship to most countries, see our shipping policies. Payment is via Abe only.
