Synopsis

New short novel by UK based writer Harmanjit Kaur Sidhu. This book follows Raj and Roop, two friends at university who are thrown into a time-travelling world of government spies, assassins and some of the most legendary Sikh figures from 18th century Panjab. Their only way home is to fulfil the sacred mission.

Synopsis:

Raj doesn’t believe in much anymore- in fate, or his faith- not since his younger brother was killed in a tragic accident. His plan for his summer holidays is to keep his head down, and enjoy the relative peace of Oxford without having to deal with his university classmates and other good-intentioned well-wishers.

But his plans are interrupted with the arrival of a mysterious stranger. Raj, along with his best friend Roop, are thrown in to a world of government spies, a stolen museum artefact, and then eventually- in to the very past itself, as they find themselves in a tumultuous 18th-century Punjab.

Punjab is ruled by tyrants looking to spill Sikh blood, whilst the dwindling Sikh forces have retreated to the forests. Raj and Roop must strike new allyships with these legendary figures, confront their innermost fears, and find the courage to fulfil their sacred mission so they can finally return home.
