Jan Ramage is the award author of several children's books, including Stranded, Eyes in the Night and Tuart Dwellers. She lives in Western Australia.
Mark Wilson lives in Frankston, Victoria, with his wife Ros, two dogs called Kouta and Toby, and seven fish (at last count). He loved drawing from a very early age and also loved playing drums on his mum's upturned pots and pans. He also loved comics, especially The Phantom. He went on to play drums (and try to sing like John Lennon) in rock bands, including Piranah and Centerfold. Finding a 'real job' led Mark into magazine illustration and he began writing his own books in 2004. Mark now visits schools talking about his books and doing writing and illustrating workshops

Wilson, Mark (illustrateur). Hardback oblong quarto, no jacket, good condition, pictorial cover, colour drawings (mostly full-page), illustrated endpapers, some colour loss & laminate lifting top corner front cover & bottom corner rear cover (not affecting cover illustration), minor edgewear & rubbing (spine ends little bumped). 31 pp. A wonderful children's picture story by Jan Ramage about a baby whale getting stranded on the beach, and Ben who risked his life to save it. The beautiful artwork by Mark Wilson is very lifelike and makes the story suitable to any age. The story is based on a true story of saving 120 beached whales. There were two rescues at Busselton, Western Australia. One was a world-first because 1500 people turned out to save the 120 stranded whales. It began with one person, culminating in a tidal wave of community support against unsurmountable odds, and remarkably all but one whale survived. N° de réf. du vendeur 41547
