Synopsis

‘True Confessions of A Shameless Gossip’ is a title that rolls merrily off the tongue. For 36 years Craig Bennett has been at the coalface of the wild and outrageous showbiz gossip beat. From humble beginnings as a cadet journalist on the Sydney Daily Mirror and Daily Telegraph - working under the stewardship of the indomitable publishing queen Ita Buttrose - he suddenly found himself rubbing shoulders with an array of Aussie and International luminaries, from Joan Collins and Larry Hagman, to sitting on Monty Python star Graham Chapman’s bed in a Sydney hotel suite, offering advice on his tragic and d life. Craig became best friends with an array of Australian entertainment legends, including Don Lane, Bernard King, Mike Walsh, Dita Cobb and Jeanne Little. Teleion and radio came a-calling, and Craig’s life has been a wonderfully colourful blur of champagne, gossip, intrigue and scandal ever since. In his illustrious career Craig has covered the Oscars, lived in Hollywood and interwed a galaxy of stars, from icons to legends in and out of their own lunch times! Craig became a confidante to a Milky Way of showbiz luminaries who he feels certain that they won’t mind him telling their tales between the covers!
